Safety and security

The Regional State Administrative Agency (AVI) works to promote health and safety in the environment you live and work in. The AVI Agency works together with other actors to ensure regional equality by enhancing the citizens' legal protection, welfare and security.

The Agency contributes in many different ways to building a safe and secure society:

• The Regional State Administrative Agency coordinates regional cooperation on internal security and preparedness for emergencies in normal conditions in its area of responsibility in a wide-based cooperation with other regional authorities, regional councils, municipalities, organisations and village associations in the region as well as business and industry representatives.
• The tasks of the various administrative branches in the AVI Agency include oversight of rescue services and leadership in cases of animal disease epidemics.
