The County Administrative Board is responsible for the management of large predators in the county. The goal is for the animals to exist in viable strains, while we want to minimize the problems caused by them.

Administration protects and restricts Among the large predators are bears, wolves, lynx, wolverine and the golden eagle, and the county's management plan describes how to manage them based on results of annual inventories. The plan contains the numbers and dispersion targets for each species, and we make decisions relating to preventive measures, protective hunting and hunting licenses. We also issue information relating to large predators that live in the county.

The County Administrative Board is responsible for the supervision of the hunting of large predators and for monitoring any illegal hunting. In addition, we handle wildlife damage issues which are partly caused by predators.
