Animals & nature

The County Administrative Board implements initiatives aimed at preserving the county's valuable plant and animal life and the natural landscapes. This includes the creation of nature reserves, the inventory of plant and animal species and natural environments as well as the reviewing of permits for activities that could affect the natural environment. Nature reserves and national parks can be accessed for outdoor recreation and nature experiences.

The County Administrative Board is responsible for animal welfare in the county. We work with preventative measures for the well-being of the animals. We may decide to take an animal into charge if it has been maltreated, or forbid a person from procuring animals, or a particular species of animal.
