Project workers
There are two projects working with the same source files, the project
Disambiguation of Sámi text, and the Sáamediggi proofing tool
project.
- People working on the disambiguation project
- The official leader of the project is Pekka
Sammallahti, who did the basic work on the morphology of nouns,
verbs and adjectives in NorthSámi.
- There are two lingusts working at the project, Trond Trosterud and Marit Julien is the project's
- Saara
Huhmarniemi is the project's programmer, working from Helsinki.
- Awaiting the project enlargement, a linguist
programmer, Tomi Pieski, has been temporarily employed:
- The local gurus, the system operators of cochise.uit.no and of our home page server, are Roy Dragseth, Steinar Trædal-Henden at IT-avdelinga, and Thor-Øivind Johansen at Humfak.
- Then there are some part-time workers (as of August 2004):
- Lena Gaup works on testing
- Others will be hired as well, for short-term employment
- People working on the proofing tool project
- There will be a board
- The official leader of the project is Anne-Britt Hætta
- The project is run by Sjur N. Moshagen.
- The project has a linguist, a programmer, a project worker (to be hired shortly)

There is more than enough work waiting to be done. Students and
researchers are thus encouraged to use the parsers, and to participate in
their development.
Earlier contributors to the University project
- Eero Taipale did the initial cvs setup
- Børre Gaup gave
technical assistance on the linux infrastructure, setup of tools,
etc., is given by Børre also looks into localisation and web
interface issues.
- Sjur N. Moshagen
participated in the development of the South Sámi analysis, and
he developed the testing tools.
- Lene Antonsen worked on
the North Sámi place names.
- Biret Bals worked on
grammatical issues.
