Other institutions working on these issues
- We cooperate with the Sámi Parliament language tool project,
managed by Per Edvard Klemetsen under eSápmi (cf. Sjur Moshagen's April 2003 report)
- We cooperate with the Language
department of the Norwegian Sámi Parliament (giellaossodat)
on issues concerning terminology.
- The publishing house Davvi
Girji will deliver text material, and the gt project will deliver
the fst transducers as text processing tools in exchange.
- NSI, the Northern Saami
Institute, runs a Northern Sami corpus project, and cooperates
with this project.
- A common site for all language technology work on the Sami
languages is being set up at the Department of Linguistics at the
University of Helsinki.
- We participate in the Samisk nätvärk för lexikografi och språteknologi
- Pedagogical projects: We would like to cooperate with Sámi
Oahpponeahta, an online Sámi pedagogical site.
- There are also dictionary work and documentation centra of
different kinds in the Sami area that is relevant to the present
project, but so far there is no formalised cooperation with such
projects.
- For Lule Sámi, there is Árran, working on both grammar and
dictionary for Lule Sámi.
- For Southern Sámi, Statens
utdanningskontor i Nordland has an online dictionary project.
- For Inari and Skolt Sámi, developmental work is being
done at the Saamen koulutuskeskus in Inari.
