Northern Sámi Hunspell dictionary

 This package contains all the required files to add support for
 the language Northern Sámi to the hunspell spell checker which is
 currently used in OpenOffice.org2 and as an ispell clone.
 
 The hunspell dictionary is part of the Divvun project to create Sámi
 proofing tools - see www.divvun.no for more info.

 Requirements
 ============
 
 This dictionary is tested with hunspell 1.1.9 and above.
 
 Support for the Sámi languages in OpenOffice.org was added in OOo 2.4,
 and then only as a paragraph language. It is not yet possible to set
 one of the Sámi languages as the default document language, although we
 are working on it. Support for Sámi as default document language will
 be added to a future OOo version.
 
 Installation
 ============
 
 On Linux
 ------
 
 As an administrator user
 make install
 
 This will install the speller files in the appropriate places, and add support
 for Northern Sámi. Hunspell and enchant based spellers are then able to use it.
 This includes OpenOffice.org, version 2.4 and above and KDE4.
  
 Known issues
 ============
 
 - speed:
   The generated lexicon file is almost 50 Mb. It is quite
   comprehensive, but it makes Hunspell slow. We don't know what we can
   do to speed it up, but we will discuss the issue with the Hunspell
   developers.
 - suggestions:
   The present version does not contain *any* adjustments to the
   suggestion mechanism, it is using the "raw" hunspell algorithm as is.
   This leads to less than stellar - or very often NO - suggestions.
   This is an area where the MS spellers for Sámi are much better (one
   can compare the performance of the two speller engines on our speller
   test bench pages, check www.divvun.no). We hope to improve this
   later, but tuning the suggestions very often has a negative effect on
   speed - which is already not very good.
