Files ending in *-twolc-test.txt may be tested as follows:

1. open twolc, by writing
twolc

2. open the phon file and compile it, by writing
read-grammar ~/main/langs/sma/src/phonology/sma-phon.twolc
compile

3. start the pair test file mode:
pair-test-file

4. give the input file name, e.g.
a-e-twolc-test.txt

5. give the output file name, whatever name you like.

6 exit twolc, by writing
quit

and have a look at the output file.
