Research on local governments and regions, dwellings, buildings and the environment

The Ministry of Local Government and Modernisation is responsible for areas of expertise that include local government administration and the implementation of elections, regional and district policy and housing and building policy.


A future-oriented Government Building Complex

The integrated artwork in the damaged government buildings

No decision has yet been made concerning re-use or demolition of the H-block and Y-block. Any Government decisions concerning the artwork in the damaged government buildings will be dealt with in accordance with Norwegian law.

Art, architecture and buildings in the Government Building Complex

Regjeringskvartalet, the government building complex, is located in central Oslo and has been owned by the government for more than 200 years.

Rebuilding the government building complex

Work is now under way on the rebuilding of the government building complex after the bombing on 22 July 2011.

Act on an infrastructure for geographical information (Spatial Data Act)

The Act shall promote good and efficient access to public geographical information (spatial data) for public and private purposes.
