The principal responsibility of the Ministry of Petroleum and Energy is to achieve a coordinated and integrated energy policy.
The Ministry has four departments, one department of administration and one staff department under the Secretary General.
The Ministry is under the lead of the Minister of Petroleum and Energy. The Minister has a staff with one state secretaries and one political advisor.
The Secretary General is the administrative leader of the Ministry. The Secretary General's staff is the Communication Unit and the secretarial staff.
The Minstry was established 1 June 1997 and has approx. 140 employees.
