Terrorism
Norway is strongly involved in the war on international terrorism. It can only be won by making use of a wide range of methods, including political, humanitarian, economic, legal and military means.
In the short-term, it is important to prevent planned terrorist attacks through active endeavours on the part of the police and the armed forces. In the long-term, we must focus on the factors that make individuals choose the path of terrorism. Norway’s work on peace processes, democratisation and development are therefore important contributions to the overall war on international terrorism.
